A personal curatorial notebook by Tarilabo Koripamo, founder, art consultant of Korita Studio. Part art diary, part cultural observation, part social commentary, the Journal reflects on museum visits, gallery trips, art fairs, cities, interiors, public spaces, and the cultural moments that shape Tari’s eye and Korita Studio’s work. Through writing, the Journal becomes a place to look more closely — at artworks, rooms, buildings, exhibitions, collectors, cities, and the quiet details that shape how culture is experienced. It follows the way art appears in everyday life: on gallery walls, in hotel lobbies, inside museums, across airports, within private collections, and in the spaces people pass through, gather in, and remember. The Journal is also a record of curiosity. It traces the questions, references, observations, and encounters that inform Korita Studio’s curatorial language — from contemporary African visual culture and public art to beauty, taste, identity, memory, class, architecture, collecting, and the politics of space. Written through Tari’s perspective, the Journal is both personal and professional: a space for reflection, research, and cultural noticing. It considers not only what is seen, but what it means, what it reveals, and how it may shape the way art is curated, collected, placed, and lived with.
